Urban Ministry

Volunteers serve drinks to elderly people in a community center during a holiday event.

Every other month our parish family comes together to prepare a full-course hot meal for our neighbors at Greensboro Urban Ministry. This initiative allows us to put our faith into practice by addressing the immediate, tangible needs of those in our local community.

The process begins in our own Social Hall kitchen, where a team of dedicated volunteers gathers to prepare a nutritious meal from scratch. The atmosphere is one of fellowship and shared purpose as we prepare enough food to serve upwards of 120 people. Once the cooking is complete, the hot meal is carefully transported to the Urban Ministry facility, where our team has the privilege of serving their guests directly.

This ministry is about more than just providing a plate of food; it is about offering dignity, warmth, and a reminder that no one in our community is forgotten. By feeding so many during each visit, we witness firsthand the impact of collective action and the grace that comes from simple acts of service.

We invite all parishioners to become part of this tradition. Whether you have a talent for cooking, a hand for heavy lifting, or simply a heart for serving others, your presence makes a difference. Through your time, prayers, and donations, we can continue to ensure that our neighbors at Greensboro Urban Ministry receive a hot meal and a warm welcome.

To join our next cooking or service team, please reach out to Ian Chavez at doturbanministry@gmail.com for more information.
